Ruffian Lift out:

The Ruffian was lifted out last Friday afternoon, had its bottom cleaned, moved on its dodgy trailer to its new location in the Coal Harbour and emptied of all contents.  Thanks to Keith, Mark and Sean Roberts for coming down and helping out.

Maintenance day:

Thanks to all that attended the biggest maintenance day in years! Hope you learned something, made new contacts in SID and ENJOYED it!  After the recent storms and bad weather we had a super day weather wise for the end of October which allowed (a bit of ) a BBQ!  First time I ever planned a BBQ a month in advance and got to weather to have it!  Now all I have to do is brush up on my culinary skills!

A lot of repairs, rigging, cleaning, inventory checks, shopping etc  was done and the inventory will be typed up and put on our website in the next few weeks.  The work done will assist in the planning for getting the boats into good shape for the start of next year.

Again thanks to Eamonn, Carlos, Paul, Una, Marguerite, Nigel, Ann Mulvin, Liam, Aidan, Susan, Colm, Tricia, Joan, Chris, Cearbhall, Michael Hanley, Noel, Carina, Ann Coyne and  Bryan for attending and helping out.

Pictures of the day are located at http://homepage.eircom.net/~sidclub/pictures/mtceOct04/index.html

Volunteers:

I need a couple of volunteers to do some typing.  I have a number of application forms from previous years from which I want contact details entered into a spreadsheet. (about an hours work for a good typist!)  Can anyone assist?

Also, if anyone would like to assist me in organising a fundraising event (e.g. table quiz/disco etc) in aid of the RNLI in Q105 please contact me.  Why volunteer? Well you may meet new people,  make new networking contacts, learn or develop skills and get the satisfaction of a job well done! (and it might help you forget about work!!)

Saturday Dinghy Sailing:

There will be a normal dinghy session on Saturday 6th in the afternoon. If you want to sail please contact Gearóid

Frostbite Party

Powerboat training

I was hoping to run powerboat courses in November but it is not now possible.  I hope to run at least 2 weekends in February/March 05.  More details later.

Wedding Picture:
